Comic-Con 2026

I went all-in at Comic-Con International this year!

Three very different ways to put the science in science fiction:

🚀 Mission Control. We "trained" the next generation of astronaut candidates at our IF/THEN STEAM Squad Mission Control activation. Robots, Rockets, Space Medicine, Astrobiology and more!

🧠 The Science of Spider-Man's New Challenges. A great panel organized by the Fleet Science Center on the science behind the upcoming movie. I leaned into the rumor that Jean Grey will make an appearance and made some predictions about what that means for memory, neuroscience, and human connection. (Telepathy and really good signal processing are not that different!)

🕷️ Cosplay! I dressed as characters from my favorite sci-fi - ranging from Fallout's Vault Dweller Steph (can you find her/me in the photo!), to a deepcut of Murderbot - I was the human incarnation of the ship Perihelion :)

Comic-Con is full of curious, imaginative humans who already believe the future can be better. My kind of crowd.
